Can LinkedIn sync messages to a CRM on its own?
Only through Sales Navigator, and only on its top tier. LinkedIn's CRM Sync and activity writeback need a Sales Navigator Advanced Plus seat for every sales person, on top of the CRM licence. Writeback records what reps do inside Sales Navigator, such as sent InMails and messages. It is not a mirror of the regular LinkedIn inbox.
| CRM | Native LinkedIn option | What it needs | What it writes to the CRM | Cost per rep |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HubSpot | Sales Navigator CRM Sync, available for HubSpot since 2024 | Sales Navigator Advanced Plus per rep; HubSpot lists a Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise seat | Sales Navigator activity such as InMails and messages | Advanced Plus: sold by quote, from about $1,600 a year. Sales Hub Professional: $90 a month billed yearly ($100 monthly) plus a one time $1,500 onboarding fee. About $2,700 a year before onboarding |
| Salesforce | Sales Navigator for Salesforce with CRM Sync | Advanced Plus per rep plus a Salesforce edition with API access: Enterprise, Unlimited or Performance, or Pro Suite with the API add-on | Sales Navigator activity, as Salesforce activities | Advanced Plus from about $1,600 a year. Sales Cloud Pro Suite with the $25 API add-on: $125 a month, or Enterprise at $175 a month, both billed yearly. About $3,100 to $3,700 a year |
| Zoho CRM | Sales Navigator extension from Zoho Marketplace, not the full CRM Sync | Advanced Plus per rep plus Zoho CRM Professional or higher | InMails, connection requests and profile views, as activities | Advanced Plus from about $1,600 a year. Zoho CRM Professional: $23 a month billed yearly ($35 monthly). About $1,900 a year |
| Pipedrive | None | Pipedrive has no first party LinkedIn integration and Sales Navigator does not support it | Nothing | No native option to buy |
| All four | Ln2CRM extension, for comparison | Any Ln2CRM plan and no Sales Navigator seat. Runs on HubSpot Free and up, every paid Pipedrive plan, Zoho CRM, and Salesforce editions with API access | Regular LinkedIn and Sales Navigator conversations, as notes on the contact or deal | Free plan. Base: $16 a month or $156 a year ($13 a month). Pro: $23 a month or $216 a year |
Added up per rep and per year, the native route costs roughly $2,700 on HubSpot before the onboarding fee, $3,100 to $3,700 on Salesforce and $1,900 on Zoho, because the Advanced Plus seat comes on top of a CRM tier that supports it. Advanced Plus is sold by quote, so treat those figures as a floor. The extension route costs $156 a year per rep on Ln2CRM Base and runs on the CRM plan you already pay for; on Salesforce that still means an edition with API access, since Salesforce's Free Suite and Starter Suite have none, which rules out every API based tool.
Two gaps follow. Teams on Pipedrive have no native route at all. And teams whose reps work in the regular LinkedIn inbox, or who do not pay for Advanced Plus, get nothing into the CRM unless someone copies it. Browser extensions exist to close those gaps. For the wider picture of what a LinkedIn CRM integration covers beyond messages, start with profiles and deals.
Why copying messages by hand stops working
Pasting a conversation into a CRM note works for five conversations a week. At fifty it falls apart: the paste loses who said what and when, it happens after the call instead of during the thread, and the one conversation nobody logged is the one the next rep needed. The problem is not discipline. The conversation lives in one tool and the record lives in another.
How automatic LinkedIn message sync works in Ln2CRM
Ln2CRM reads the conversation that is open in your browser, from the page itself, and writes it to the CRM record you saved from that LinkedIn profile. It makes no LinkedIn API calls and does not crawl other conversations in the background.
- Save the person to your CRM once.Ln2CRM matches people by their LinkedIn URL, so the conversation needs a record to land on. If the person is not in the CRM yet, the message box says so and offers Open profile to add.
- Open the conversation. The Sync to CRM button sits just above the message box, under the conversation. The number on it, for example Sync to CRM (3), counts messages that are not in the CRM yet; once everything is synced it reads Up to date. The count is worked out in your browser, so it costs nothing to show.
- Click it for the first sync.Ln2CRM scrolls the thread upward to load older messages and saves up to the last 100 in one note, grouped by speaker, with dates. The box confirms with a line such as Synced 12 messages to Maya Chen.
- Choose where the messages land.In Ln2CRM settings, under Sync LinkedIn messages to, pick Contact or Deal. You set this once per CRM.
- Turn on auto-sync.Tick Auto-sync new messages. From then on, every conversation you have synced once picks up new messages on its own while it is open, each batch as a new note with only what is new. Auto-sync never starts on a conversation you have not synced yourself.
Where the button appears
- The LinkedIn messaging page.
- Chat windows opened from a profile's Message button or from the Messaging bar at the bottom of LinkedIn.
- The Sales Navigator inbox and the message panel on a Sales Navigator lead page.
What gets copied
The text of each message, who sent it and when. Files, images and reactions stay on LinkedIn. Every LinkedIn message carries a stable id, and Ln2CRM uses it together with the send time, so syncing the same thread again never duplicates a message. When nothing is new, the button reads Up to date.
Contact or deal: where do the messages land?
| Setting | Situation | Where the note goes |
|---|---|---|
| Contact | Any | The person saved from that LinkedIn profile: a contact, or a lead if you saved them as a lead. In Pipedrive the note goes to the person the lead belongs to |
| Deal | One open deal linked to the contact | That deal, automatically |
| Deal | Several open deals | The message box asks Which deal? and offers Contact instead |
| Deal | No open deal | The contact or lead |
If several CRM records share the person's name, the message box asks Which contact? once, and Ln2CRM remembers the answer for that LinkedIn profile.
What the note looks like in HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and Zoho
The same conversation lands a little differently in each CRM, because each one renders notes its own way. Ln2CRM keeps every note under a size each CRM handles comfortably and continues very long threads in extra notes instead of letting the CRM cut them off.
| CRM | Record it attaches to | Formatting | Longest single note | Step by step |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HubSpot | Contact or deal | Formatted: speaker names underlined, one line per message | About 60,000 characters | Log LinkedIn messages in HubSpot |
| Salesforce | Contact, lead or opportunity, as a classic note | Plain text: a name and date line above each group | About 30,000 characters | Log LinkedIn messages in Salesforce |
| Pipedrive | Person or deal | Formatted | About 50,000 characters | Log LinkedIn messages in Pipedrive |
| Zoho CRM | Contact, lead or deal | Formatted rich text | About 60,000 characters | Log LinkedIn messages in Zoho CRM |

Thanks for the demo yesterday. Could you send pricing for five seats?
Jordan Lee · Sep 2, 2026
Sure. On annual billing it comes to $13 per seat per month. I will send the quote today.

Got it. I am looping in Daniel from ops before we sign.
Which tools sync LinkedIn messages to a CRM automatically?
Five extensions come up most often. They differ in which CRMs get message sync, how a sync starts and how much history the first sync brings.
| Tool | CRMs with message sync | How a sync starts | History on first sync | Where it lands | Plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ln2CRM | HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho | Sync to CRM button, then optional auto-sync | Up to the last 100 messages | A note on the contact, lead or deal, one per sync | Free plan; Base $16 a month or $156 a year; one Manage action per sync |
| Surfe | HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and others | Automatically each time you open a conversation | About the last 25 messages for earlier conversations | HubSpot: Communication activity. Pipedrive: Conversation activity in History | Paid plans, from $39 per user per month billed yearly ($49 monthly) |
| Hublead | HubSpot only | Automatic | No limit stated | Activities on the HubSpot contact timeline | From $32 per user per month billed yearly ($40 monthly) |
| LeadCRM | HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho and more | Automatic once contacts are connected, per LeadCRM | No limit stated | CRM conversation or activity records, per LeadCRM | Professional about $23.96 per seat per month billed yearly; sync credits: 200 a month on Professional, unlimited from Grow |
| LinkMatch | Pipedrive, HubSpot, Zoho CRM and others; no Salesforce | Automatic, in the Messaging tab and the message popup on a profile, for people already saved with their LinkedIn URL | No limit stated | Activities on the record | Professional plan only: €28.99 per user per month billed yearly (€35.99 monthly) |
One honest difference: Ln2CRM writes notes, which read as a conversation history on the record. If your reporting counts LinkedIn touches as their own activity type, the tools that log activities, such as Surfe and Hublead, fit that model better. Competitor details come from their public help centres and pricing pages.
Is it safe, and where do the messages go?
- It reads only what is on your screen. The conversation you have open, in your own logged in LinkedIn session. No LinkedIn API calls and no background crawling of other threads.
- It never sends anything. Ln2CRM does not send, schedule or automate LinkedIn messages. Syncing is read only on the LinkedIn side.
- Message text is not kept by Ln2CRM. It passes through to your CRM. Ln2CRM keeps a message id and a fingerprint so it can skip duplicates, not the words.
- Your CRM, your connection. HubSpot, Salesforce and Zoho connect by OAuth; Pipedrive connects with your personal API token.
Can Ln2CRM help write the next message, too?
Yes. Message sync is the record keeping half of a LinkedIn conversation. Two more buttons sit in the toolbar of the same LinkedIn message box, for the writing half.
- Message templates. Save the openers, follow ups and answers you send again and again, sort them into groups, and drop one into the open chat with one click. A [name] placeholder fills in the person's first name. Ln2CRM only inserts the text: you read it, edit it and press Send yourself.
- AI reply. The Draft an AI reply button writes the next message and puts it in the message box. It reads the conversation on screen, finds the person in your CRM and pulls the latest notes and emails from their deal or contact, then adds the short profile of your own company that you save once in Settings. Language and tone follow the conversation. If the person is not in your CRM yet, it drafts from the conversation alone.
The two halves feed each other. Every synced conversation becomes a note on the record, so the next AI draft, yours or a teammate's, starts from the whole history rather than the last few lines on screen. AI replies draw on your plan's Copilot allowance, separate from the Manage actions that message sync uses. For templates and AI replies side by side with another extension, see Ln2CRM vs Surfe. For message wording that tends to get answers, see the outreach messages section of the LinkedIn prospecting guide.
What it costs
Each sync that writes new messages to your CRM uses one Manage action, the same allowance that covers notes and tasks. The Free plan includes 10 Manage actions a month. Base includes 500 a month for $16 per user per month, or $156 a year, which works out at $13 a month. Pro includes 2,000 for $23 per user per month, or $216 a year. When the monthly allowance runs out, the message box says Monthly limit reached and syncing pauses until the next month or an upgrade. Current limits are on the pricing page.
