LinkedIn HubSpot integration, built into one Chrome extension
Open someone's profile on LinkedIn and you'll see whether they're already a HubSpot Contact, along with whatever your team has logged against them. Someone new? Click once and the Contact exists, Company associated and all. There's no second tab to juggle, and nobody asks you about Sales Navigator.
Why HubSpot users need this on LinkedIn
HubSpot's free CRM gave a huge number of teams somewhere to keep their Contacts, which is great, but that record never shows up on LinkedIn, where the prospecting actually happens. HubSpot's own LinkedIn tools sit behind paid Sales Hub seats. So most people end up pasting names into HubSpot search and quietly hoping they're not about to create a second Contact.
That's the gap Ln2CRM fills. Looking at a profile, you can tell straight away if this is a Contact you already have, which Company they sit under and how long it's been since anyone spoke to them. Then you act on it in a click. Does it matter whether your portal is free or paid? Not at all, since everything runs through HubSpot's regular CRM API.
Setting it up
Get the extension
It's in the Chrome Web Store, and once added it opens as a panel on LinkedIn profiles and company pages, nowhere else.
Connect HubSpot
Connecting is one OAuth approval on HubSpot's own login screen. You accept the scopes once and that's it, so your password never comes anywhere near us. If you ever want to cut it off, disconnecting the app inside HubSpot does the job.
Pick a property for the LinkedIn URL
We'll ask which property should hold the LinkedIn link. You've likely got one already, so it's a choice from a dropdown rather than a custom build. It pays off later too, because that link is the first thing we look at when working out whether someone's already in your portal.
New people become a Contact
Here HubSpot makes life simple, since everybody is a Contact and there's no Lead stage to think about. Ln2CRM creates the Contact, associates the Company in the same click, and a Deal can come along too if the conversation is already that far.
Badges right on the page
Profiles get a small badge the moment they load. Green is the easy one, the Contact already exists. If LinkedIn lists a newer job title or company than your HubSpot record, you'll see it turn yellow instead, and a red one means this person has never been added to your portal. Badges are on by default, though a switch in Settings hides them if you find them noisy.
Built in email finder
Whenever the Email field is empty, there's a sparkle next to it. Click it and Ln2CRM goes off to find the work email, verifies it, and marks it with a green check when it's good. It's included in every plan, the free one too, with 5 found emails a month. Phones work a bit differently because they come through your own FullEnrich or Apollo key, so you pay that provider directly and we don't take a cut.
Prospect
With that, you're ready. Every LinkedIn profile you open now shows either the matching Contact, with its notes and tasks, or a card that's already filled in for you to save.
HubSpot without the tab
Over time you'll notice a fair amount of HubSpot housekeeping moving into the panel, simply because it's quicker than switching tabs.
Add a person to HubSpot in one click
Pressing + Person is where most of the saving happens. Ln2CRM reads the profile and fills in the card, so all you really do is glance over it, maybe jot a note, and save. The new Contact shows up in HubSpot with its Company already associated, carrying the LinkedIn link that lets us recognize the person next time.
Whatever the profile shows is on the card before you touch the keyboard.
The Company gets created or associated in that same click, and once the conversation turns serious, a Deal is one more click away.
Got the Company in HubSpot already? Type its name or paste its ID and the Contact goes under it. Otherwise someone ends up merging two copies of the same Company a month from now, and nobody enjoys that job.
The sparkle handles work emails. For phone numbers, connect your own FullEnrich or Apollo key.
Manage the record without opening HubSpot
The Manage tab puts a small slice of HubSpot right on the LinkedIn page. You find the Contact and link the profile to it once, and from then on you can check the associated Company and any open Deals before you write anything.
You can search by name or HubSpot ID. After the profile is linked to the right Contact, Ln2CRM remembers the pairing, so you only do this once.
Open tasks and older notes show up beside the profile, which is about the best protection there is against messaging someone twice or forgetting what you promised them.
Changing a property or logging the next task from the panel takes about twenty seconds, which beats hunting for the right HubSpot tab.
Spot who is already in HubSpot while you scroll
Scroll through a page of LinkedIn search results and the badges do the sorting for you, showing which people are already Contacts in HubSpot before you've clicked on anyone.
Already a Contact in your portal, and the badge links straight to the record.
Nobody's added them to HubSpot, which might make them exactly who you're looking for.
The Contact exists, only LinkedIn has since moved on to a new job title or company. You'll see what changed in the panel, and HubSpot catches up with a single click.
One Contact, the whole HubSpot context
Associations are what make HubSpot worth using, so the panel shows them too. When a profile matches a Contact, you already know the account before you start typing.
The Contact's Company and any open Deals appear right on the profile, which tells you where the account stands before you reach out.
You won't need a Sales Hub seat for any of this, because creating Contacts, associating Companies and logging Tasks all go through the CRM API that every HubSpot tier has.
Matching on the LinkedIn URL and on email means one person stays one Contact, rather than two records owned by two reps.
What lands where in HubSpot
This is how LinkedIn details map onto HubSpot objects and properties. You confirm it once during setup, and from then on the LinkedIn URL is how we catch duplicates.
| From the LinkedIn page | HubSpot object | Field |
|---|---|---|
| Full name | Contact | firstname, lastname |
| Current role | Contact | jobtitle |
| Company | Company | name |
| Location | Contact | city, country |
| Profile URL | Contact | Any property you pick from a dropdown, used for duplicate matching |
| Company page URL | Company | Any property you pick, or domain |
| Email and phone | Contact | email, phone (email found by Ln2CRM; phone via your own FullEnrich or Apollo key) |
| Your notes | Contact, Company, or Deal | Note attached to the record |
| Follow-up | Task | Title, due date, associated with the record |
Ln2CRM works with the objects HubSpot users rely on, Contacts and Companies first, then Deals, Tasks and Notes, and it does so on Free, Starter, Professional and Enterprise alike through the CRM API.
For HubSpot admins
Ln2CRM connects through standard OAuth and only ever acts as the person who signed in. These are the things admins usually ask us about.
Your people log in on HubSpot's own consent screen and approve the scopes once. From our side that means a scoped token, never a password, and pulling it under Connected Apps shuts the connection down on the spot.
Everything happens as the connected user and within their HubSpot permissions. Put simply, if someone can't see a record in HubSpot, Ln2CRM can't show it to them either.
Ln2CRM never wanders off doing things by itself. It looks at a profile because a person opened it and writes to HubSpot because they pressed Save, so bulk exports and scraping simply aren't part of how it works.
Contacts and Companies are created and updated right in your HubSpot. We don't sell contact data, to anyone, ever.
In most portals each user can approve the OAuth connection on their own. Some portals only let a Super Admin install apps, and in that case the admin approves Ln2CRM once under Settings → Integrations → Connected Apps, after which every rep connects with a single click.
What HubSpot admins actually ask us about, from the support inbox: two things. Where the second email went (under View all properties, in the Additional email property, which the contact card doesn't show) and why a burst of saves once came back with errors. That one was ours: HubSpot limits search calls per second per portal, our two servers each spent that budget on their own, and HubSpot answered 429 for a minute. We now keep one shared pace per portal, about three searches a second.
