Type best free CRM for LinkedIn into a search box and you get two answers that do not fit together. One is a list of free CRMs, none of which really connects to LinkedIn. The other is a list of LinkedIn tools, none of which is a CRM you would actually run your pipeline in. The reason is simple: the CRM and the LinkedIn bridge are two different jobs, and almost nobody builds both. This piece treats them as the two things they are, then shows the one free combination that covers both.
Why "free CRM" and "free CRM for LinkedIn" are different questions
There are plenty of good free CRMs. HubSpot has a famously generous free tier. Zoho and Attio both hold a real pipeline for one person at no cost. So if all you need is a place to store contacts and deals, you are spoiled for choice.
The moment LinkedIn enters the picture, the field empties out. None of those free tiers has a working two way LinkedIn connection. LinkedIn does sell a sanctioned integration, the Sales Navigator embedded experience, but it sits behind the Advanced Plus tier, an enterprise add on charged per seat on top of both your CRM and your LinkedIn subscription. For a small team that already pays for a CRM, that is the point where the LinkedIn project quietly dies, and people go back to copy and paste.
So the real question is not which free CRM is best in the abstract. It is which free setup lets a person you just found on LinkedIn land in your CRM, with the right company and no duplicate, without paying an enterprise LinkedIn bill to move the data. That has a specific answer.
crm2crm: the free CRM itself
crm2crm is a free CRM built to feel familiar the second you open it. If you have used Pipedrive, you already know the shape: multiple pipelines with stages, a drag and drop Kanban board, and a configurable table view when you would rather see rows than cards. Nothing to learn, nothing to configure before it is useful.
Underneath the familiar surface it is a full CRM, not a stripped down free sample:
- Contacts, companies and deals with a unified activity timeline, multiple emails and phones with labels, and custom fields on any entity.
- Work that actually gets logged: tasks, calls and emails, notes you can pin and expand, labels, a global search and quick add from anywhere.
- Analytics that answer real questions: pipeline summary, conversion funnels, deal velocity, average deal size, rotting deals, win rate over time and source attribution.
- Email that stays in sync: Outlook thread sync, smart BCC, file attachments, and CSV import and export.
- A resumable Pipedrive migration with a field mapping wizard, so moving in is a couple of clicks rather than a project.
One honest gap: there is no native Google Workspace sync yet, because Google charges heavily for that access. Outlook users are covered today, Gmail users lean on smart BCC and import for now.
The AI part, all on your own key
Every AI feature runs on a key you provide, OpenAI, Anthropic or Groq, and every one of them can be turned off and hidden if you prefer the classic CRM experience. Your data and your prompts go straight from your workspace to the model provider you chose. They are never routed through crm2crm. That single design choice is what keeps the product free and keeps your pipeline private at the same time.
- AI Overview. One click summarises any record, where the deal stands and what to do next, with its sources, cached so the second look is instant.
- AI Research agent. Runs a live web search on a person or company and writes a cited research note straight onto the record.
- Capture. Paste an email, a call transcript, a chat or a document, and the AI pulls out the action items so you can tick them into tasks.
- Lead scoring you can trust. An editable weighted rubric plus ICP keywords produce a deterministic score, the same inputs always give the same number. The model only writes the two or three sentence reason, it never picks the number. Built in red flag heuristics catch job seekers and entry level titles, and a competitor cap hard limits scores for people working at your competitors.
- Smart Filter. Type "German SaaS deals over 10k closing this quarter" and it builds the actual filters for you.
- Deal warmth and Workspace Health. Warmth is tracked over time, so you see a deal heating up or cooling off rather than just its stage, and a Workspace Health audit grades the hygiene of the whole pipeline.
- Editable system prompts. The prompts behind Overview and Research are yours to edit per workspace.
Getting leads into it
A CRM is only as good as what reaches it. crm2crm has three inbound paths before you even add the LinkedIn extension:
- Inbox triage ranks inbound email by urgency and flags stalled threads, so the reply that matters does not sink.
- Lead capture gives you a public web form and an email to lead address, both of which create contacts from unknown senders automatically.
- Contact enrichment lets you bring your own FullEnrich key and hit Find email or phone on a contact when you need a way to reach them.
For the tinkerers
If you like to wire your own tools together, crm2crm goes further than most free CRMs would:
- A native MCP server. Point Claude, or any MCP client, at your workspace and let the AI operate the CRM directly through roughly 28 tools: search, update deals, move stages, create notes, score leads and more.
- Outbound webhooks and scoped API keys for your own automations, each key revocable and limited per workspace.
- White labelling. Your own name, logo and even the browser tab favicon, plus accent colours and dark mode.
What is actually free, and what is the catch
Free CRMs usually hide the catch in the record count. crm2crm does not. Every workspace gets:
- 5,000 contacts, 5,000 companies and 5,000 deals
- Unlimited team seats
- 10 pipelines
- 100 MB of file storage per user
- Every AI feature, on your own LLM key
The real limiter is storage, not records. 100 MB per user is plenty for notes, contacts and the odd attachment, and it fills up if you treat the CRM as a document store. The record ceilings are high enough that a small team will run for a long time before touching them. There are no paid tiers to upgrade into, because the running cost lives in your own AI and enrichment keys, which you pay to those providers directly.
How secure your data is
Free should not mean loose. A CRM holds your customer list, which is often the single most sensitive asset a small company owns, so this section is deliberately specific rather than reassuring noise.
- Encryption everywhere. AES-256-GCM at rest for every key and credential, TLS and HTTPS in transit. Passwords are hashed with Argon2id, the current OWASP recommendation, so they are never recoverable, not even by crm2crm.
- Strict multi tenant isolation. One customer can never reach another customer's data, with role based access across owner, admin and member.
- Session security. JSON Web Tokens with server side revocation on logout, plus brute force rate limiting on login.
- API keys as hashes only. Keys are stored hashed, never in plaintext, and are scoped, revocable and limited per workspace.
- Signed, protected webhooks. Every webhook is HMAC signed and guarded against SSRF.
- OWASP aligned application security. SQL injection safe through a parametrised ORM, schema validated input, and CSRF safe because it authenticates with Bearer tokens rather than cookies.
- EU data residency, GDPR aligned. Your data stays in the EU, and because you bring your own AI keys, your records and prompts are never routed through crm2crm to a model provider.
That last point is worth repeating, because it is the part most free AI tools get wrong. The bring your own key design means the sensitive path, your pipeline text going to a language model, runs from you to the provider you chose, not through a third party that could log it.
The part that makes it a LinkedIn CRM
Everything above is a good free CRM. It becomes a free CRM for LinkedIn through Ln2CRM, a Chrome extension that opens next to a LinkedIn profile or company page and writes into your CRM without leaving the tab.
On the profile you are viewing, the extension:
- Checks the person or company against your CRM and tells you on the page whether they already exist, so you stop building duplicates.
- Creates a contact, company or deal from the profile in one action, with the LinkedIn URL written into a dedicated field, which is what makes deduplication work for people who arrive without an email.
- Shows the existing CRM context next to the profile, open deals, owner, last activity, so you know before you message whether a colleague is already in the conversation.
- Logs notes and tasks without a tab switch, and drafts follow up replies with AI when you want them.
- Syncs a LinkedIn conversation into the record, one clean note on the first sync, new notes as the chat continues, manually or automatically. We wrote the full method in syncing LinkedIn messages to your CRM.
- Runs on regular LinkedIn, with no Sales Navigator seat required.
Pricing on the extension is simple. The free tier lets you try the workflow on a few profiles a month. The Base plan at 16 dollars per user per month raises that to 500 Create and 500 Manage operations, which is enough for steady daily prospecting, and crm2crm itself stays free underneath. Full numbers are on the pricing page.
Already use HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho or Salesforce?
Then you do not need to switch anything. crm2crm exists for people who have no CRM yet. If you already run one of the big four, the value is the bridge, not a migration.
Here is how the free plans of the CRMs people compare most often actually stand, and where each one leaves the LinkedIn job:
| CRM | Free plan, in short | Native LinkedIn on free | With Ln2CRM |
|---|---|---|---|
| crm2crm | 5,000 each of contacts, companies, deals; unlimited seats; full AI | No, none does | Yes, built for it |
| HubSpot | Strong free tier, real contact and deal records | Sales Navigator tier only | Yes |
| Pipedrive | No free plan, trial then paid | No | Yes |
| Zoho CRM | Free for up to 3 users, capable base | Sales Navigator tier only | Yes |
| Salesforce | No free plan, paid from the entry tier | Sales Navigator tier only | Yes |

Try it yourself first
You do not have to take any of this on faith. The demo opens a live crm2crm workspace with sample data, no account and nothing to install, so you can click through the board, open a record, run an AI Overview and decide whether the interface fits your hand.
